What can i say about Boiling Crab? its freaking awesome...

If you love crawfishs and crabs with great cajun seasoning (DA SHA BANG), you gotta try it out. did i mention the oysters? best ones i've ever tasted and to try it with their special sauce... G Sauce is what they called it. LOVE IT. I think i tried everything in the menu, fried soft shell crabs..hmmm. and the gumbo was good too. Not to mention, the atmosphere, there's like 15 flat screen tvs all around the restaraunt, relaxing and they sell beer for like $2.

for me and my buddys, FOOTBALL SEASON is hear and all i can think about doing on sundays is put your bets in, get some oysters, some beer and of course the whole sha bang crawfish....

come check it out and i hope you guys will enjoy this as much as i have.

One word folks.  YUMMY!!!  =)

When it comes to crawfish, there is no other place with better flavor than the sha-bang special sauce here at the boiling crab.  Most places just boil the crawfish and shake the sauce on the outside.  Here, it is flavored throughout.  Yum!  And you can get it as spicy as you can handle!

The oysters are absolutely delicious and fresh!

For those of you complaining about the price, that comes with the territory of eating seafood people!!  After all, what you get is what you pay for!  The truth is, for what you're getting, I'd say the pricing is pretty average here.  Keep in mind there is no other place in the dfw area that will provide you fresh crawfish all year round.  Yes, that is correct folks.  Even when crawfish is supposedly "out of season", these people get 'em fresh ALL YEAR ROUND!  Woo hoo!

I'm not big on crab, but the fried soft shell crab is quite tastey.  And the gumbo, wow....speechless.....They've got sweet potato fries that I have never tried anywhere else.  Yum!

The atmosphere, is quite awesome.  Love the music and the decor.  I think I've signed my name on those walls a dozen times!  The servicing is also great!  Must get me one of those t-shirts.  =)

Lets start with the good.

Awesome waitress. She was very nice and friendly.. she even bibbed us.

Oysters at $12.99/dozen were fresh and delicious.. but I could get the same thing elsewhere for $9.99.

Now the bad.

Crawfish was $5.99/lb and were super tiny! I had crawfish last week at Saigon mall and they were monstrously big. What the heck happened? The seasoning wasn't all that great and some of the crawfish were overcooked. You don't want crawfish that's hard to break. I'm pro at pulling the tail out and one of the crawfish broke my nail!! I was very sad.

This place caters to a very young crowd. When you walk in, it's very dimly lit and the music is loud. The atmosphere is really weird.. it's like it could be a bar except everyones just sitting down eating crawfish. I'm gonna guess that everyone in there is in high school, or barely graduated. It also seems as though everyone knows each other here.

I did not try the crabs. The prices were such a turn off. This place was an entire turn off. but I endured it, like a bad date. HAHA jk  I did, however, enjoy dinner with a fellow yelper, Francesca! My favorite part about being at the boiling crab was when she busted out with her "You've been Yelped" card. hahahah!

EDIT: I forgot to add that condiments cost extra! 50 cents each to be exact. and no they do not give you any when they bring out your crawfish.

Xuan's back in Dallas, and we finally get to hang out so I pick her favorite food + new-ish restaurant that neither of us has tried.
It was 3 girls and we ordered sweet potato fries, 12 oysters, and 5 lbs of crawfish. Total was $50+ and we all had water.
Like Xuan said, our waitress was cool and didn't even flinch when with sticky hands I handed her my cup for more water haha
We started off with 12 huge oysters--I am a fan of the horseradish + lemon, but here you get limes + peppery sauce. The oysters were awesome, very fresh, and tasty and I enjoyed the peppery sauce.
The sweet potato fries were fine. No seasoning, just plain. Not greasy, perfect balance of crispy and chewy. At first I was sad they didn't have any seasoning salt or anything, but after eating all the crawfish I was happy to have something to kinda cleanse my palate :)
The crawfish were pretty small with 3 BIG ones at the bottom of the bag- I guess 1 for each of us..haha
We had the "whole sha-bang" which is the rajun cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic butter all together and we got it medium spicy. The seasoning was not evenly distributed so sometimes I'd get a really spicy one and then the next one would be straight garlic.

Overall it was ok--I don't have as high expectations as Xuan since I haven't eaten whole crawfish in 10 yrs or more. I did just have oysters in Maryland a couple months ago though, and these were way better here in Texas. (even though they were out of season in both locations)

Oh and yes the music is all rap all the time, so you can feel like you're at the club except you've got garlic stuck under your nails! hahah

good shrimp.  especially with the whole she-bang as the flavor.  good oysters the g sauce is the pretty scrum-diddly-umptious.  good service, wait staff is pretty cool.  good crab, blue crab with garlic butter or she-bang is mighty tasty..  good she-bang sauce.  good price on beer,  perfect with my crawfish.  good place to hang, fun atmosphere, lots of energy.  i recommend the place for a gathering of a group of friends.  quit wasting time reading this review and get over there.  your crawfish and crabs are getting cold and your beer is getting hot.!!!!
